Colt Starting and Restarting for Problem Horses
I have learned from the Masters and am still learning. I know how important the starting process is, to build a willing partnership between horse and rider. Using teaching methods and techniques that are non-threatening and make sense to the horse, a solid foundation can be formed. I can help the horse to gain confidence in what is being asked of him and 'think' his way through different situations. I adjust to fit the horses' needs. I listen and read the horses' body language and reward the smallest try. Every horse is different and has it's own history. I have been able to help, even difficult horses learn to be responsive, relaxed and willing, by making the wrong response difficult and the desired response easy. I allow the horse time to separate and learn.
